About
Since 2004, Rita has received training through courses offered from Arvada and Golden, Colorado quilting businesses. In addition, experience continues through the mentorship of peers in the local industry and through "learning by doing". Rita particularly enjoys crazy quilting techniques - anything from a full-size quilt to creating unique crazy quilt products such as pincushions, chatelaines, wall hangings, and book covers. Please visit the quilting gallery to see other examples of her work. In 2007, Rita Meyerhoff began teaching quilting classes and conducting quilting demonstrations. She is currently teaching quilting classes at Emily's Sewing Basket in Lakewood, CO. She is also a regular volunteer and docent at the Golden, CO Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. In late 2007, Rita began showing her quilts in regional quilt shows. She entered her first local quilt show in fall 2007 (Rocky Mountain Quilting Museum Echter's Quilt Show) and received a 1st place viewer's choice award for her Crazy Quilt, My Secret Garden. In May and June 2008, Rita again showed her Crazy Quilt at two juried shows: Mancuso's Denver National Quilt Festival III and the Colorado Quilt Council's annual show in Estes Park Colorado. In the Estes Park show, her Crazy Quilt won a 2nd place ribbon in the "Other Techniques" category. In June 2008 Rita showed her Rose Quilt, Tapestry in Bloom, at the American Rose. In 2009, she received a 2nd place for Tulip Tango. Some of our favorite quilting links are provided below:
